Join writer and photographer Amy Gulick, author of The Salmon Way: An Alaska State of Mind at Elliott Bay Book Company. The Salmon Way is a celebration of salmon culture in Alaska, salmon preservation and all the different ways that Alaskan--and by extension Seattle and Pacific Northwestern-- identity, economy and culture is tied to salmon. She has received numerous honors including a Lowell Thomas Award from the Society of American Travel Writers Foundation, the Daniel Housberg Wilderness Image Award from the Alaska Conservation Foundation, and the Voice of the Wild Award from the Alaska Wilderness League. She is also the author of Salmon in the Trees.
“Few who read this illuminating book or see the author's awe-inspiring color photographs will fail to come away with a sense that this is a way of life well-worth preserving. A rich, compelling look at a thriving yet increasingly threatened natural resource and those who depend on it.”--Kirkus Reviews.
